Stu and Estee Austin, owners of Austin Bloom, are passionate about design, design thinking and the development of ideas and their execution.
Both studied various forms of visual art and visual communication at the University of South Australia and RMIT.
It was in late 2012 that a love for floristry began and Estee and Stu experimented with weddings and events since that time. Flowers were not the central medium until they opened their bricks and mortar flower business in the Adelaide Hills in 2014.
Over the past few years there has been so much development artistically, conceptually and not to mention logistically!
They started workshops the first year they established - wreath making at Christmas time in their little Balhannah studio - and from this grew one-off education days and nights and now to our 6 week Introduction to Floristry course.
At this stage they are focussing on beginners and those with none to little experience, but intend to grow the streams and offer more advanced courses and weekend workshops that specialise in event and wedding design floristry.
Austin Bloom believes they have a lot to offer with their talented staff members who are also integral in teaching at their workshops and courses.
Their most recent workshop was Brunch and Blooms which was held at Penfolds Magill Estate. This 2 hour event sold out in the blink of an eye. If you missed out, never fear - there will be more classes such as this to be launched soon!
If you're passionate about floral art and ready to jump in the deep end and challenge your creative senses - it would be well worth the investment to sign up for the next 6 week Introduction to Floristry course starting Wednesday 25 July.
Daytime and evening classes are being offered, to cater for people of any age and work/family commitments.
